What Makes Tiwa Kitchen Different from Other Restaurants in Taos?
Everything at Tiwa Kitchen Is Hand-Made With Attentive Care & Family Love!
From the food to the building to the Hornos, everything is handmade at our restaurant. When Ben and Debbie Sandoval began construction of Tiwa Kitchen & Bakery in September 1992, they gathered friends & family and used the ancient tradition of Pueblo adobe making. Then they carefully placed over 3,000 adobes and created a solid structure that will now last hundreds of years. Even the paint that you see on the wall inside the restaurant is traditionally made by hand. Ben and Debbie also bake every morning in Hornos or outdoor ovens. These are domed ovens that are also made with adobes and by hand. Come in and dine with us as our honored guests in a peaceful, hospitable setting on beautiful Taos Pueblo land. Enjoy our one of a kind Pueblo cuisine in our one of a kind restaurant.
